The former prizefighter turned disreputable nobleman hoped to marry Emily’s sister until she was forced to wed another.  After his hopes for a suitable marriage are dashed once again, he seizes the chance to settle the score with Thomas Sinclair---by eloping with Emily and consigning them both to a union without love.

This is the 4th book and the last book of ruination of the Sinclair sisters. I love Ms. Jewel's way of writing a romance novel that is hot and steamy (oh my!) with a good plot and interesting character development. Both lead characters would have benefited with some therapy sessions, but recovered nicely by the end. Almost perfect but for some crazy thoughts that were repeated over and over

I am so glad that I read the first two books in this series, as they provided background to Surrender to Ruin. Nothing has changed in the Sinclair household, but Emily has done a good job of holding her pose so that there is no inkling of the true state of affairs in her family home. Bracebridge is well aware of Emily's infatuation for him, however he still recalls her as the lighthearted, energetic, mischievous young girl, and later as the social butterfly at society events. Even though he is attracted to her, there is a part of him that despises her especially after he lost his first love, leaving him morose and melancholic. In some ways this story is very sad as Emily's love for Bracebridge is as strong as ever, and the only reason he married her was to take revenge on her malevolent father. There is a good background to this story and it is well written, however I did feel that there was an overabundance of bedroom scenes. I was glad however, to read the wrap-up of the Sinclair girls' stories but it would have been so nice if their degenerate father had fallen off a cliff or landed in the bottom of coal mine! I received a copy of this book as a gift and this is my honest and voluntary review.
